If the teaser rings true, the Galaxy A(2017) will boast an Ingress Protection rating of IP68, and will follow in the footsteps of its earlier model -- the Galaxy S7 (S7 edge) -- which also comprises the durable waterproof feature.

In the IP68 certification, the numerical 6 indicates that the devices is completely protected against any contact with dust, while the numerical 8 indicates that the device can withstand being under water up to 1 meter (around 3 feet)

The waterproof feature will join the already confirmed alterations to the Samsung Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and A7 models, which include increased HD display and screens, cameras with increased quality, and significant boosts to both storage and battery capacity.
