Panasonic India has set high targets for itself and plans to capture 10 percent of the 4K TV market share by the end of the tear. At present, it has about five percent of the market share and has launched a new line-up of 2017 4K Ultra HD TVs along with the UA7 sound system to achieve its targets.
It even showcased its invisible television, of which there are only two units worldwide, and commented on how that is the future and could be expected in India in the next three to four years. Panasonic launched the EX750 and EX600 series on Monday. The size of the screens range from 43-inch to 65-inch, across the 4K models.
The EX750 65-inch, flagship model shall be sold for Rs 310,000. The EX600 series brings in televisions of a smaller size- 55-inch, 49-inch and 43-inch at Rs 178,900, Rs 141,000 and Rs 78,900 respectively.
"Panasonic has seen a 42-43 percent growth year-on-year (YOY) in the 40 inch plus television segment in 2016-17," said Manish Sharma, President and CEO, Panasonic India. Panasonic saw a 25 percent growth YOY overall in the Television category and the 32 inch and sub 32 inch segment saw lesser growth added Manish.
The 4K television series, EX750 and EX600, is designed to deliver better picture quality and sound. The EX750 features a new 'Cinema Display', 550nits super-bright panel, HDR1000 and is powered by the 'Studio Colour HCX2' processor which has been tuned by experts at the Panasonic Hollywood Lab.
The EX600 series has My Home Screen 2.0 for ease of use and provides the smarter user experience. The EX750 65 inch TV, EX600 55 inch and 49 inch TVs shall be available with a UA7 all in one sound system for free as a combo offer.
Featuring a hexagonal box design, UA7 sound system has 10 speakers, delivering 1700W of sound. "The EX750 and EX600 series televisions shall be manufactured either in Malaysia and Japan and will be brought to India as completely built units. The production of these televisions shall move to India as the demand increases," said Manish.
