New DIY smartphone charger requires only water!
Thomas Kim has built the DIY phone charger you have been waiting for!
Turns out, you can now charge a smartphone will only running water! YouTube’s Thomas Kim, who is known to be a DIY enthusiast and often uploads videos of interesting electrical experiments, made a water wheel generator out of plastic bottles, disposable platters 3 Phase stepping motor and a rectifier circuit.
The Next Web explains that the concept is the same used by hydroelectric dams worldwide, but rather, on a smaller scale. The water turns a water wheel which then creates power to store in a generator. With this power, Kim charged his iPhone!
This system is said to be a Pelton wheel turbine system and is eco-friendly as well.
