NASA Mars 2020: Here's how you can send your name to Red Planet free of cost

Want your name on Mars, here's the opportunity! NASA, which will send another rover to the Red Planet in 2020, is inviting people to send their names which will be placed on a microchip on its Mars Rover 2020 and carried to Mars in 2020. 

Taking it to Twitter, NASA wrote, "When our #Mars2020 rover lands on the Red Planet in 2021, it will carry a microchip etched with the names of millions of people from planet Earth. Is yours on it? Don't miss out: get your boarding pass and fly your name on our #Mars2020 rover! Book now" 

People can send their first name, last name, country, Postal code and e-mail id to NASA. The last date to submit names to NASA is September 30, 2019 by 11:59 pm ET. 

How to send names to NASA to be carried to Mars

Step 1: Log on to https://mars.nasa.gov/participate/send-your-name/mars2020

Step 2: Once the page is opened, enter your first name and last name. 

Step 3: Select your country from the list.

Step 4: Mention your postal code and email. 

Step 5: After filling all the information, select 'Send My Name To Mars' and submit. Your name will be sent to NASA.

Step 6: Once you've sent your name, it will redirect the user to another page that will show your boarding pass with your name and other details. 

Step 7: User can also download it or take a print.

NASA Mars mission 2020 will begin another journey to the Red planet exploring further possibilities of life and other related studies. Mars rover 2020 will collect samples from the Red Planet and bring them back on earth to be used by scientists in order to understand the properties of the Red Planet.
