After a whopping US $2.91 billion acquisition from Google in 2014, Lenovo is set to merge Motorla into the fold soon. From now on, Motorola will take over designing, developing and manufacturing for all Lenovo smartphones.However, Lenovo will apparently "continue to drive the overall mobile business". Motorola Mobility's president and, COO Rick Osterloh, will be overseeing the new entity, while still reporting to Lenovo management. Both Lenovo and Motorola brand smartphones and smart devices will remain in the market for now, although a rebranding of Moto's devices might eventually be in the works.
