When the founder of a social networking site that has 800 million active users wants to celebrate his pet's birthday, he cannot avoid posting it online. And that's just what Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg did today. On the occasion of his pet dog Beast's second birthday, the American computer programmer posted a photo of the dog with a birthday "bone" and a candle adorning it.

Beast, who lives in Palo Alto with Mark and his wife Priscilla Chan is probably the most popular animal "public figure" to have a fan page on the networking site. The dog's page has 1.3 million likes. His bio reads: I like cuddling and herding things. I was born in Grants Pass, Oregon and now I live in Palo Alto with Mark and Cilla. I am extremely cute.

The Beast Facebook page has hundreds of photos of the dog chasing sheep, cuddling Priscilla Chan and "surfing the net".
