A lot of players are attempting to make their mark in the virtual reality game, but it’s only so few of them that are working on innovative ways to interact with VR.That’s where the oh so secretive Leap Motion comes in. The company has introduced an early access beta version of its Interaction Engine, that significantly improves hand-tracking in VR. The engine makes it easier for developers to utilise hand-tracking in their games, also making it easier for players to hold and pick up in-game objects. In a blog post, Leap Motion calls its engine “a layer that exists between the Unity game engine and real-world hand physics.” Optimal hand-tracking can make or break VR games. Being able to accurately interact with objects brings so much to immersiveness, and Leap Motion’s Orion platform can even accurately find the joints in your fingers, no matter the orientation of your hand.
