As per the report, the photos were sent by an anonymous source who claims to work for one of Apple’s manufacturing partners in China. The images hint at the OLED touchpad panel to be placed above the keyboard and users will be able to customise those function keys to swap out shortcuts which are not required. One could also add shortcuts for specific apps.

In addition, the touchpad might reportedly have a lip that slips into that smaller hole on the left side of the cutout, keeping it in place. The company may have moved the speakers as well to make way for the OLED touch pad.

Previous rumours from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities suggested that Apple was working on a revamped version of the MacBook Pro which would sport a thinner form factor, fingerprint sensor and Touch ID too.
