According to recent reports, the site has been refreshed by its original staffers at a new URL. Kickass Torrents had its domains seized earlier this year, after founder Artem Vaulin was arrested in Poland earlier this year, effectively shutting down the largest torrent website in the world at the time.

According to Torrent Freak, a number of admins, moderators and forum members from Katz rallied around the re-ignited Katcr.co forums in an effort to keep up the active community, and even hinted that the torrents would return in future. The website is reportedly up and running at this time though, understandably, facing heavy traffic.

So, what’s stopping authorities from shutting down the torrent website once more? It’s the fact that the website has decided to only keep “safe elements”. Team members have said Kickass Torrents won’t actually store copyrighted material on the website any more, in an effort to keep its members and uploaders safe from authorities.
