The timeline begins by marking Nintendo's rise, mass producing Hanafuda playing cards, in 1889 and begins to snowball after Nintendo first released its home entertainment system in 1983. Blips on the map mark each major game developer that's contributed to the field, up until present day, even detailing their closure (if at all) some of the games they've produced, and a brief synopsis of their history.
