Huawei’s P9 smartphone will soon be available in India. Company officials stated that the smartphone will be available for Indian markets next month.

In terms of specifications, the device features a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 955 processor and will be available in 3GB RAM/32GB in-built storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage variants. Running Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box with EMUI 4.1 on top, the device packs in a 3000mAh battery. The device will also pack in its dual 12MP camera made in collaboration with camera maker Leica. Huawei also added that it is working to add new features to its EMUI.

In conversation with Indian Express, Allen Wang, President, Huawei Consumer Business Group (India) stated, “We are looking at the right time for launching P series devices in India. We are evaluating ways to complement the phone with Indian user specific content before launching the device. For us P9 is not just a smartphone but an opportunity to collaborate with international brands. If Nexus 6P was all about Google, then P9 is all about Leica.”
