The update comes after Google announced on its official Indian blog that it made improvements to several of its products based on preferences of the Indian market. However, there was no mention of Google Play Music.

The ‘Shop’ feature in the app will now show users sections like Top Songs, Hot New Music, Top Albums, Devotional & Spiritual, Best of Bollywood and Indian Pop Hits. There is also music in regional languages like Tamil, Telugu, and Punjabi.

Music on Apple’s iTunes ranges from Rs 7 to 15 for each song, while Airtel Wynk Music cost Rs 10 and offers an unlimited in-app downloads plan for Rs 99 per month.  But Google Play Music is a steep Rs 15 for each song.
