Google Maps updated with new traffic alerts on Android and iOS
Entering your destination gives you a spoken alert of upcoming traffic conditions.
The Google Maps smartphone app has been updated for India with improved traffic alerts. In a blog post Google says that, when you enter your destination in navigation mode, Maps uses a voice alert to let you know what the traffic along the way is going to be like, and helps you find the quickest way. If it spots a traffic jam, it'll let you know immediately, and also tells you how much time the delay will likely cost you. In addition, it’ll also suggest an alternate route.While this feature was launched for US users last year, the tool has finally made its way to India, and should make your daily commutes a lot easier. The update is available for both Android and iOS.
