Xiaomi is expected to launch a new Redmi smartphone in India, on May 16. In all probability, it will be Xiaomi Redmi 4. Recently, Vice President, Xiaomi and Managing Director, Xiaomi India - Manu Kumar Jain took to Twitter and stated the company’s plan to extend its Redmi range of smartphones in the country. He stated, “Announcing the launch of a new Redmi phone! This will be the 2nd BIG announcement of the month. Coming soon. Stay tuned #PowerInYourHand.”

The Redmi 4 sports a 5- inch HD IPS display powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC. Just like the Redmi 4A, it is coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, (expandable up to 128GB on a hybrid slot). Coming to the camera, the phone features a 13Mp rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. The device also comes with a 4100mAh battery that supports fast charging and is available in colours variants like gold, silver and dark grey. The smartphone is priced at CNY 699 (approximately Rs 6,900).
