Ringing Bells was supposed to launch the Freedom 251 smartphone for a staggeringly low Rs 251, but due to complications on the website we--along with numerous others--weren't able to buy the smartphone. Apart from that there are a number of questions still pending: what is Ringing Bells Pvt Ltd gaining from launching this smartphone? Why was the image of the phone different from ad in the paper and the image on their website? Why was the name ‘Adcom’ white washed on the phone and replaced by Freedom 251?

There are so many loose ends around this launch that it left us baffled. But through it all, the question still remains: Would you buy the Freedom 251?

We posted a poll earlier today on our twitter page to get a sense of what the broader sentiment was.

At the time of writing this, we saw a near-even tie between the number of users keen on buying the phone (42 percent) and the number choosing to wait and watch (38 percent.) Only 20 percent appeared to be outright against buying this phone.
