Facebook calls it the ‘Look back’, and as the name suggests, the feature creates a video montage of pictures, status updates, events and mentions since the day a user joined Facebook. The video cleverly selects the most-talked of moments on Facebook.com and plays them with wistful playback music. Try it out yourself. All you need to do is click on www.facebook.com/Lookback and let it surprise you.

Zuckerberg in his Facebook status, yesterday, expressed how amazing the journey has been so far and how grateful he was to have been a part of it “It's rare to be able to touch so many people's lives, and I try to remind myself to make the most of every day and have the biggest impact I can”

He reminisces the evening he spent with his friends over pizza after launching Facebook

“why were we the ones to build this? We were just students. We had way fewer resources than big companies. If they had focused on this problem, they could have done it. The only answer I can think of is: we just cared more."

Not much has changed since then, on its 10 Birthday, Mark and team very warmly invited its users with a little thank you note masqueraded as ‘LookBack’ . The medium is the message here, that Facebook would be nowhere without all its users and that’s what the behemoth is really thankful of.

Zuckerberg went further to address his new interest Internet.org which aims at reaching those who have not seen the internet yet.

“The first ten years were about bootstrapping this network. Now we have the resources to help people across the world solve even bigger and more important problems.”

The 'LookBack' feature, in spite of being a very simple idea, has struck a chord with its users and more importantly reminded them to look back and remember the good times.
