Sony recently upgraded the hardware on its Playstation 4, with the new model being more power efficient, and running quieter and cooler as well. But it seems the upgrade hasn't made its way to all models yet. While the 500GB PS4 has the new CUH-1200 hardware, the slightly later released 1TB version still packs the old CUH-1100 components, with just a larger storage drive than the 500GB. The CUH-1200 daws upto 25 percent less power while in operational mode, and also has a redesigned, smaller motherboard and a new Blu-Ray drive It's likely that Sony is waiting till its existing stock empty out a little bit, possibly till end of year sales, before they switch the 1TB over to the new format.
