In this time of the humanitarian disaster, everyone is trying to do their best to fight against the pandemic. Here is one more story to add-on, teenagers from Delhi have build a robot that can help medical workers to deal with COVID-19 patients.

Named as 'Prithvi', the robot will help reducing contact between healthcare workers and COVID-19 patients by distributing food & other essential stuff.

Nishant Chandna (15), Saurav Maheshkar (16) from KIIT World School and Aditya Dubey (17) from Modern School Barakhamba are the brains behind 'Prithvi'. Students conceptualised, designed and built the robot after the Narendra Modi government announced a nationwide lockdown in an attempt to curb the spread of the virus.

The robot is built by the students who can deliver food and medicines to patients and is controlled remotely through an app downloaded on a smartphone. As reported by The Print, the smart tablet attached to the robot enables video conferencing between doctors and patients.

The main aim for the invention is to prevent healthcare workers and doctors from getting infected by the coronavirus.

According to The Print report, the prototype is made of cardboard, a programmable board and basic motors that cost less than Rs 5,000 to build. If the prototype gets approved and used on a larger scale, it would need better material for construction.

Amid the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the invention can provide a big help to the health workers.
