Another major adult website has been hacked, and not a site that facilitates affairs, like in the case of Ashley Madison. This time around, the target is good old pornography stalwart Brazzers.According to Motherboard, at least 790,724 user email addresses and passwords have been stolen and published online from. In a twist, the credentials weren’t stolen from Brazzers itself, but rather from Brazzersforum.com, the associated user community website.According to have i been pwned?, a security website run by analyst Troy Hunt, each entry in the list included a username, email address, and password, all stored in plain text. In layman terms, none of the information was encrypted.Brazzers spokesperson Matt Stevens told Motherboard that the details exposed bear similarity to a breach on the forum that occurred in 2012. The forum was managed by a third party at the time, and the breach exploited a vulnerability in the third party’s “vBulletin” software, not a Brazzers security flaw. However, the accounts registered in the forum are valid accounts on the main group of pornography websites, rendering their own security redundant. In any case, users that never participated in the Brazzers forum are likely safe from any exposure. The forum itself is currently offline for maintenance, while Stevens says Brazzers has banned all inactive accounts among those leaked, to prevent them from being used again.
