Canon launched a new DSLR camera, the EOS 80D and two new compact cameras. The premium compact PowerShot G7X Mark II and the ultra-zoom PowerShot SX720 HS in India today.

The EOS 80D is the latest addition to our DSLR camera range, and the successor to the EOS 70D. The DSLR has new features such as an all-cross type 45-point AF system, DIGIC 6 image processor with a 24.2 megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor, a higher ISO speed, as well as an improved video recording specification.

The PowerShot G7X Mark II features a large 1.0-inch sensor, as well as Canon’s new DIGIC 7 image processor making it the ultimate portable camera for discerning clickers. The PowerShot SX720 HS which is powered by the DIGIC 6 imaging processor and offers an 40x optical zoom and video recording features.

The new lens being announced today is the EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM. This lens is the first to offer a Nano USM focusing system for ultra-fast still image focusing, and autofocus during video shooting.

The Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E1 that is also being announced today, is an accessory designed to offer smooth, and variable powered zoom at the flick of a finger. Both the accessories are compatible with the EOS 80D as well as other EOS cameras.

The EOS 80D will have a newly developed 24.2 megapixel APS-C size, CMOS sensor, an all-cross type 45-point autofocus system, DIGIC 6 image processor as well as a standard ISO range of ISO 100 – ISO 16,000.

The PowerShot G7X Mark II features a 1.0-inch sensor, and is powered by Canon’s latest DIGIC 7 image processor. With an lens offering apertures of f/1.8. Canon claims that the large sensor ensures better background blur.

Key Features of PowerShot SX720 HS

The PowerShot SX720 HS features an optical zoom of 40x (24mm to 960mm equivalent). Powered by a DIGIC 6 image processor. Canon says that the camera has a plethora of features and is the widest possible zoom range in a sleek and compact package.

Key Features of EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens

Canon used a newly developed Nano USM focusing system which apparently is high-speed, quiet, and smooth AF for capturing both still images and videos, the EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens covers a wide zoom range.

The EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM will be available from April onwards.

Key Features of Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E1

Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E1 is a completely new accessory which purportedly allows smooth, variable powered zoom using compatible Nano USM and Lead-Screw type STM lenses--allowing  users to achieve smooth and gradual zoom and allows greater photographic expression.

The Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E1 will be available from Q2 2016 onwards.
