Ever since the availability of internet service was made public in India, the country has covered a long distance to stand out as the second-largest in the world with maximum internet users.

Though consumers are using both broadband and mobile data with multiple offers and rewards, here is a detailed comparison between a wireless broadband connection and a 4G network to help you choose the best among the two.

With mobile data, you cannot get 100 mbps or for that matter, even 20-50 mbps speed, consistently. So if your work involves a lot of downloading/uploading big files, running programs that consume a lot of data, or if your mobile network is connected to multiple devices for work, then mobile data is not at all a reliable source of internet for you.

Whereas, broadband connections are generally regarded as a reliable option for work because of consistency, stability, and fast-speed. Based on user experience, it has come to light that with a fiber connection, one never faces problems like network drops, slow internet, or network congestion. In broadband, the network offers a wide connectivity option where multiple devices could be connected without worrying about speed drops.

4G Mobile Data or Broadband Internet

Wireless Broadband
1. The average upload and download speed in India is 34.59 mbps and 36.15 mbps, respectively.
2. It is more reliable and consistent.
3. It is fixed broadband, so there is no mobility.
4. It's cheaper compared to 4G mobile data.
5. It has ad-on benefits like a free subscription to entertainment platforms.

4G Mobile Data
1. The average upload and download speed in India is 4.65 mbps and 11.52 mbps.
2. It is not a reliable source of internet.
3. It provides connectivity even when one is travelling.
4. It's costlier compared to broadband.
5. It is restricted to internet only and has no free subscription or add-on benefit.

Broadband connections stand out when it comes to consistency in performance, cost-benefit, and superior speed while 4G takes a lead in terms of mobility. However, for a huge number of users 200 mbps or 100 mbps broadband fiber plan is more than enough even if they connect multiple devices to the same network.
