Looks like Apple has finally decided to make its presence felt on Twitter.
Apple has activated its Twitter handle, few days prior to the iPhone 7 launch event. The company hasn’t sent out any tweet but, already has 112,309 followers. (At the time of writing)
The account has an updated background image, which is seen on the media invite for the iPhone event. The handle now has a verified status as well.
Apple joined Twitter in September 2011 and since then, had the default 'egg' shaped symbol as its profile picture. The company has other Twitter accounts for products, such as Apple Music, Beats 1 and iTunes and have live blogged events on its website too. In the past, the Apple introduced @AppleSupport to offer customer support for Apple users. CEO Tim Cook, Phil Schiller, and Eddy Cue are active Twitter users too.
