Google will shell out $9 billion this year to remain the default search engine for iPhone's Safari browser on iOS.

According to a report by Business Insider, analyst Rod Hall said, “We believe this revenue is charged ratably based on the number of searches that users on Apple's platform originate from Siri or within the Safari browser. We believe Apple is one of the biggest channels of traffic acquisition for Google.”

It is believed that this number will only grow, leading to a payment of $12 billion in 2019.

Google has come a long way from its humble beginning in 1995, when two Stanford University graduates, Larry Page, and Sergey Brin, ideated the firm. Since 1998, Google kept its site look fresh by creating different variations of its logo, inspired by cultural icons, events and other phenomena such as Pac-Man, the birth of hip-hop and more.

"Twenty (ish) years ago, two Stanford PhD students launched a new search engine with a bold mission to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. Though much has changed in the intervening years—including now offering Search in more than 150 languages and over 190 countries—Google is still dedicated to building products for everyone."

From checking for a spellcheck to searching about all the juicy details of any Hollywood drama or Royal Wedding, the Google has helped us to be updated with anything that is happening around the world.

The Google dedicated the doodle to all the users for using the search engine. "So whether you’ve searched for the status of your favourite object orbiting the sun, the latest on the world’s biggest events, or how to impress on the dance floor: Thank you from Google," it said.
