In an effort to compete with Reliance Jio and Vodafone, Airtel has rolled out a new long-term prepaid plan for Rs 995.
Under this plan, users will get unlimited local, and STD calls along with national roaming. The company also offers 1GB of 3G/4G data usage per month with this plan and 100 SMSes per day. The plan is valid for 180 days. The plan is available across circles including Delhi NCR, Tamil Nadu, AP and Telangana.
Recently, Airtel had introduced a recharge pack for a price of Rs 9. Under this plan, customers can avail unlimited STD, local and roaming calls for a period of a day. Along with these benefits, Airtel will also offer 100MB of data for a day along with 100SMSes.
The company also introduced a new prepaid plan for Rs 93, which offers benefits such as 1GB of data along with free local and STD calls and free roaming calls. The plan will also offer 100 SMSes per day and also has a validity period of 28 days. The company has revised its Rs 93 prepaid plan in an effort to compete with Reliance Jio’s Rs 98 plan.
Recently, Hike, a homegrown messaging app, announced a strategic partnership with Bharti Airtel ("Airtel") to embed 'Total, built by hike' on mobile devices under the latter's 'Mera Pehla Smartphone' initiative.
Starting March, select smartphones under the 'Mera Pehla Smartphone' will be shipped with Total as a pre-installed feature. With the added benefit of 'Total' on all Mera Pehla Smartphone, users can access essential services such as Messaging, News, Recharge and more even without an active data connection and easily get online with access to data packs for as low as Re. 1.
'Total, built by hike', a refined version of Android, has four key elements- single login for all of Total services, light services of less than 100 kb to 1 MB, offline version and sachet data packs. "We share Hike's vision of helping every Indian own a smartphone and benefit from the digital super-highway.
