Facebook-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp shared four ways a user can keep their chats 'safe, secure and private'.
WhatsApp users have decreased in the last month. WhatsApp is in the eye of the storm over its privacy policy update, that has been stalled until May after backlash. But there are millions of users in the country who still use WhatsApp. On the occasion of Safer Internet Day 2021, Facebook-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp shared four ways a user can keep their chats 'safe, secure and private'.
"We're committed to your privacy. Here are four great ways to keep your WhatsApp chats safe, secure and private," the messaging app tweeted.
1. Enable two-step verification
WhatsApp told users that in order to secure their account, they can use two-step verification. It is an optional feature to add a PIN to your account so that no one can open the app without your permission.

2. Control who adds you to a group
A new tool on WhatsApp gives you control over who can add you to a group.
You have control over who can add you to a group. You can pick ‘everyone’, just your contacts, or you can select which of your contacts can add you to a group. https://t.co/o0q72glsI3

4. Profile privacy
You can set your profile photo, 'last seen', and your status, to be seen by everyone, only your contacts, or no one at all.
5. WhatsApp Privacy Policy
WhatsApp has once again reminded people that no one else can read your message and that your chats are completely private, even the platform itself.
