Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Google Home Hub and more: The 5 biggest announcements

Google unveiled new Android-based flagship smartphones, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. In terms of specifications, the Pixel 3 sports a 5.5-inch display while the Pixel 3 XL comes with a 6.3-inch display. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with 4GB RAM and an Adreno 630 GPU. It will be available in two storage variants - 64GB and 128GB. Both devices include a single rear camera setup, along following the trend of dual camera set up, seen on numerous smartphones today. The Pixel 3 XL includes two 8MP front-facing cameras, one of which can be used for wide-angle selfies and also includes a 12.2MP rear camera. The Pixel 3 is backed up by a 2,915mAh battery while the Pixel 3 XL is backed up by a 3450mAh battery. The new Pixel 3 smartphones will support wireless charging (up to 10 watts) and, Google has also brought in its own charging stand, called the Pixel Stand. The Google Home Hub, which is similar to the Google Home, will compete with products like Amazon’s Echo Show and the newly announced Facebook Portal. The Hub includes a feature called ‘Home View’ a dashboard which will help to control and manage all smart home devices at home. It also includes a built-in display that can show photos and more visual answers to questions asked. Additionally, Google mentioned that it doubles up as a world's "best photo frame." The Google Pixel Slate, which is a successor to the Pixelbook released last year, includes a display folds back behind the screen to offer an experience, similar to a tablet. The Slate also includes a detachable keyboard, similar to the iPad Pro. In terms of specifications, the device sports a 12.3-inch display and includes 8MP cameras, both front and back. Running ChromeOS, the device runs on 8th Gen Intel processors that can go up to a Core i7. It is paired with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Google Pixel Slate will start at $599. Google also announced a new version of the Chromecast. The company’s new streaming device will support playback video at higher frame rates and can also stream multiroom audio. It will also be 15 percent faster, and will stream 1080p HD video with a rate of up to 60 fps. The new Chromecast is priced at $35, the same as its predecessor.
