Whatsapp has postponed the new policy for the time being and the company is constantly engaged in damage control. After giving several clarifications, Whatsapp tried to reach out to the people about the privacy policy by applying status on Sunday.
WhatsApp had recently changed the Privacy Policy and started sending its notifications to users, stating that by February 8, 2021, users should accept the new policy if they want to use WhatsApp. After this the debate started and the company had to postpone the policy. Whatsapp tried to clarify the privacy policy by putting up four status on Sunday.
In the first status, WhatsApp said that it is committed to respect the privacy of its users. With this, WhatsApp gave clear information on the misinformation spread about privacy and security.
In second status, WhatsApp said, 'All chats on WhatsApp are protected with end-to-end encryption and no one can read or listen to your personal chat.'
In this status, the company said, "WhatsApp does not access the location shared by the users."
In the fourth status, WhatsApp said, 'WhatsApp does not share the contact of users with its parent company Facebook.
WhatsApp has given a link with the status in which information has been given about privacy. The company has written on its website, "You can know which of your information is private and which information is shared with our parent company Facebook. The information we share helps us to give better experience to the user and improve security."
