LONDON: Zaheer Khan's impressive stint in the county cricket continued as the medium pacer picked up four wickets for Worcestershire in their drawn four-day match against Essex.

 

Zaheer, who had claimed three wickets in the first innings, took Mark Pettini (26) caught by Graeme Hick in the second innings to finish with a match haul of 4 for 130.

 

Electing to bat, Worcestershire had declared their first innings at 473 for six before the Baroda paceman took three wicket to restrict Essex to 330.

 

Worcestershire set a victory target of 475 for their opponent after declaring their second innings at 331 for 5.

 

For Worcestershire, first innings century maker Graeme Hick cracked another ton (105 not out in 191 balls) which included nine boundaries and one six.

 

Essex managed to escape the defeat as they finished the final day at 116 for 4 in 44.5 overs.
