Zambrotta, a World Cup winner with Italy was quoted as saying by Indian Express that the Swedish legend 'would want to come and end his career' in India.

The Italian was Ibra's teammate during his stint at Juventus and now hopes to convince the 35-year-old striker to join him in the Indian Super League (ISL) before calling time on a career that has included spells with Ajax, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

“Given his fan following in India, I think Zlatan would want to come and end his career here. On my end, I will definitely try and convince him to play for Delhi Dynamos,” Zambrotta said.

In the first ISL season, Italian veteran Alessandro Del Piero had plied his trade with the dynamos and it was him who convinced Zambrotta to take up the manager's role at the Delhi franchise. “Del Piero told me good things about the club and their sincerity towards football, which convinced me that it is the perfect opportunity for me,” he said.
