This is the first time for the Indian Hockey team to reach the finals of Hero Champions Trophy.

India settled for silver after a drama-filled penalty shootout in the finals of the 36th Hero Champions Trophy in London. India lost by 1-3 against Australia with only Harmanpreet Singh scoring the goal.
