Cristiano Ronaldo was left in tears as he walked off the pitch after receiving a red card in Juventus' Champions League opener against Valencia on Thursday. This was the first time the legend was sent off in 154 Champions League appearances.

The incident happened in the 30th minute of the match at the Mestalla Stadium in Valencia, when Ronaldo seemed to have struck down a defender in the box. The referee showed him s straight red, leaving the 33-year-old in tears.

Ronaldo, who won the Champions League four times with Real Madrid, was involved in an innocuous-looking clash in the area and was stunned when German referee Felix Brych dismissed him.

Ronaldo hasn't had the best of starts to his stint at Juventus. After achieving great heights with Madrid, the Portuguese decided to join the Italian club but only managed to open his account with them last week.
