DUBAI: New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori has returned to the top five of the LG ICC Player Rankings for ODI bowlers after a stellar performance against Bangladesh in the three-match series.

The left-arm spinner, who had dropped out of the top five following a disappointing performance against Australia in the Chappell-Hadlee series, claimed seven wickets in the series against Bangladesh, including 5-7 in the last match, to jump three places to third spot.

Vettori's effort earned him 46 ratings points and put him above Australia's Nathan Bracken and Sri Lankan duo of Chaminda Vaas and Muttiah Muralitharan.

Vettori's team-mate Kyle Mills has also benefitted from his nine wickets in the series, an achievement that rocketed him up nine places to seventh position.

There was nothing to celebrate for Bangladesh as Abdur Razzak slipped six places to 20th while Mashrafe Mortaza dropped nine rungs to 32nd spot.

South Africa's Shaun Pollock leads the bowlers' list with New Zealand's injured Shane Bond a distant second.

Among the Indians, Sachin Tendulkar was static at the seventh place in the batsmen's rankings, while Yuvraj Singh (12th) and MS Dhoni (17th) hung on to their places.

No Indian features in the bowlers' list of top 20 players.
