In what comes as a bad new for Jose Mourinho is that Tottenham Hotspur's striker Harry Kane has suffered a torn hamstring.
The injury took place during the clash against Southampton when Kane scored a disallowed goal and was forced off late in the 1-0 loss.
The club said Kane had indeed torn a hamstring -- meaning Kane would be around one month on the sidelines.
Mourinho said the news is bad when he addressed media ahead of Tottenham’s FA Cup third-round clash at Middlesbrough on Sunday.
“We can confirm that Harry Kane suffered a tear in his left hamstring during our New Year’s Day fixture against Southampton,” a statement read.
“Our medical staff will continue to review the injury with treatment ongoing.”
Talking about the injury, Mourinho said, “If you ask me just my feeling -- good news or bad news -- I am more on bad news than good news, that’s my feeling.
“What the player felt, Harry Kane, leaving a match, the way he did it, he didn’t think twice, it didn’t take him two seconds to realise the severity of the situation.
“I think we’re going to lose him for some period. Every minute of every game he doesn’t play we miss him but I don’t want to be crying all the time.”
The 26-year-old had two lengthy lay-offs last season with ankle ligament injuries.
Kane - who has been injury-free this season - took to Twitter and wrote, "Head up. Tough times don’t last, tough people do”.

“Everybody knows the importance of Harry in the squad. I think irreplaceable,” Mourinho said.
While Kane's injury comes as bad news, Mourinho can breathe a sigh of relief as forward Son Heung-min will be back from suspension. He missed three games following a red card against Chelsea.
Tottenham are also without Danny Rose (calf), Ben Davies (ankle) and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris (elbow) while midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, who limped off against Southampton, is being assessed for a hip injury.
