Giant spiders invading the United Kingdom have reportedly freaked out Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli. Balotelli is reportedly terrified to go to the toilet at night in case he stumbles over one of the monsters and cannot believe how much the creepy-crawlies have grown in the two years since he last played in UK for Manchester City.
A Liverpool source revealed that the spiders are so big they make the striker jump when he sees one, adding that Balotelli says that he finds them at his home and freaks out every time, The Daily Star reported. The source also said that Balotelli is a big tough guy and he is not usually scared of spiders but added that the striker is scared to go to the bathroom at night now in case he switches on the light and sees a big hairy one staring back at him.
Experts say the spiders have grown much bigger than normal this year because of the unusually warm autumn. Some of the more aggressive species have even started giving unsuspecting people nasty and painful bites, the report added.
