Czech star Tomas Berdych has reached his first Australian Open semi-final following his quarter-final win over Spaniard David Ferrer on Tuesday at Melbourne Park.

The seventh-seeded Berdych downed number three seed Ferrer in four sets, 6-1, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, at the Rod Laver Arena, to join an elite club, reaching the semi-finals or better in each of the four Grand Slams.

Berdych would meet either defending champion Novak Djokovic or Swiss player Stanislas Wawrinka in his semi-final clash.
