Tennis queen Sania Mirza still feels the pain of being called 'unpatriotic'
Sania Mirza recently launched her autobiography 'Ace Against Odds', where she opened up about a lot of aspects of her life.
Sania Mirza's rise to the top hasn't been easy, but the tennis queen has time and again proved that no hurdle can be too big if someone is determined to achieve his/her goal.
However, despite all the accolades she has garnered for India, Sania has been called 'unpatriotic' and accused of disrespecting the Indian tri-colour. That is one thing which still hurts the tennis sensation. “For me, the most painful thing is to be called unpatriotic. A lot of good things have been said, I feel privileged, but the most hurtful thing is that (being called unpatriotic)," Sania was reported as saying by Hindustan Times.
However, the world no. 1 doubles player said that maturity has helped her to deal with circumstances like these. “It’s lot easier to deal with when I am 29, than probably when I was 19. There are 1.2 billion people in the country, we can’t expect all of them to talk sense. So, I give them the benefit of doubt, and even if one billion people love you, that’s enough," she said.
