Sushma Swaraj becomes Twitter hero again, ensures Indian badminton player shuttles to Canada
The player, Sikki Reddy, was scheduled to play the Yonex Open in that country
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday become a hero for a few badminton players, who were scheduled to play in Canada at the Yonex Open, were struggling to get a Canadian visa.
The player, Sikki Reddy tweeted to Swaraj, explaining the predicament. "Hi Mam, this is sikki reddy badminton player. We all players have applied canada visa for the Yonex Canada open.(sic)," he tweeted.
To which, Swaraj replied, "We took up the matter with Canadian High Commission. I am happy you will participate in the Yonex Canada Open. @sikkireddy @PRANNOYHSPRI"
Earlier on Thursday, Swaraj broke the internet for saying that India had a high commission in Mars, after a smart alec told her he was stranded on the red planet.
