The ousted chief of the Board of Control for Cricket in India Srinivasan also requested the court to modify its March 28 order which restrained him from discharging his office till the final order in the IPL spot-fixing and betting case.

Rejecting the submission of his counsel to hear his plea during vacation, a bench of justices BS Chauhan and AK Sikri said, "We are not here to modify the order passed by another bench (justices AK Patnaik and FM Ibrahim Kalifulla)."

The court asked the counsel to move before appropriate bench of Justice Patnaik, who is to retire from service on June 2.

Pursuant to a court-appointed committee report, the bench headed by Justice Patnaik had appointed Sunil Gavaskar to look into IPL-related matters. It also asked Shivlal Yadav to take charge as interim president for all other matters.

Claiming that the Justice Mukul Mudgal Committee had merely levelled allegations against him, but not submitted conclusive evidence to substantiate the allegations of spot-fixing and betting, Srinivasan said even the apex court had refused to form an opinion to remove him permanently from his position.

He said restraining him from discharging his duties as BCCI president would cause serious miscarriage of justice to him and also lead to an adverse impact on his career prospects.
