NEW DELHI: Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar was taken to the hospital for viral fever on Tuesday.

"It is nothing serious. He (Shoaib) is just suffering from viral fever. He will be fit in two days and hopefully will play the second Test match, said Pakistan media manager Javed Akhtar.

Later in the day, Shoaib left with the team to Kolkata, according to manager Akhtar.

Pakistan are trailing 0-1 in the three-match series and the second Test against India starts on Friday at the Eden Gardens.
