The series victory took South Africa a major step forward in their bid for success at next year's ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh and they will be hoping to continue chasing down first-placed Sri Lanka and second-placed India when they play two more matches against Pakistan at home next week.

According to Sport4, the most satisfactory thing for South African coach Russell Domingo and his team is the fact that South Africa was put under sustained pressure in this match and still managed to come out on top.

Although Pakistan seemed to be chasing down South Africa's 150/5 successfully when they needed 39 for victory off 31 balls with six wickets in hand, however, the match took a decisive turn when Imran Tahir and Wayne Parnell took three wickets between them off successive deliveries, the report added.
