As Rafael Nadal makes his move to regain the World No1 ranking from Novak Djokovic there is good news for Indian tennis fans.

In the new ATP rankings released on Monday, India's top singles player Somdev Devvarman jumped three spots to 98.

For more than one and a half years now, the Indian tennis ace has been ranked outside the top 100.

In 2011, Somdev had achieved a career-best rank of 62 but a shoulder injury halted his progress and pushed him down the ranks.

Another Indian tennis hopeful,Yuki Bhambri zoomed up to 287 with a huge jump of 190 places, following his performance at the Taiwan Challenger, where he was the runner-up after qualifying for the main draw.

In the doubles, US Open champion team Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek were at No5, Rohan Bopanna and his partner at 7 and Mahesh Bhupathi and his partner at No10.

In the ATP rankings Novak Djokovic continued  to maintain his slender lead over US Open champion Rafael Nadal.
