Maguire knocked out the seasoned Advani 4-3 in a mammoth 72-minute decider that saw a keen contest between the two.

Pankaj was India's only hope after Dilip Kumar lost 0-4 to Marco Fu of Hong Kong.

Earlier in the Wild Card round, Advani defeated world number 109 Fang Xiongman 4-2. Then followed it up with an emphatic 4-0 win over England's Elliot Slessor.

But Scotsman Maguire proved a tougher challenge for 15-time world champion Advani. In a closely contested match, Maguire took 4 frames to Advani's 3, reported Deccan Chronicle.
