National champion Sourabh Verma clinched the Slovenia International title after defeating Minoru Koga of Japan 21-17, 21-12 in the men’s singles final in Medvode on Sunday.
In the semi-finals, Verma saved two match points against Denmark’s Karan Rajan Rajarajan as he won 21-13 16-21 25-23.
He was a lot more assured in the summit clash as he managed to race to sizeable leads after the break in both the games in the 36-minute encounter.

In the women's doubles, Sanjana Santosh and Pooja Dhandu went down 21-14, 22-20 in the final against England’s Jenny Moore and Victoria Williams.
Earlier last month, Sourabh Verma and Lakshya Sen lost in the second round of the Denmark International tournament. The 26-year old Indian shuttler, previously, had also completed a hat-trick of titles at the Senior Badminton Nationals.
