Undeterred by his failure in the first innings, Shreyas Iyer bounced back in style to notch up a brilliant 92-ball 90 and help Mumbai set Baroda a mammoth 408-run target on Day Three of their Group A Ranji Trophy encounter at Moti Bagh Palace Grounds in Vadodara on Saturday.

A day after folding out Aaditya Waghmode's side for 184, Mumbai declared at 304/9 in their second innings. The hosts were 67/2 at stumps with Saurabh Wakaskar (33*) and Deepak Hooda (30*) at the crease.

Earlier, Mumbai rode on knocks from Iyer, Siddhesh Lad (48) Nikhil Patil (50*). Iyer spent 124 minutes at the wicket, hitting 12 fours and two sixes. He did so after Mumbai lost openers Akhil Herwadkar (26) and Srideep Mangela (20) to make it 48/2. Aditya Tare (6) and Suryakumar Yadav (7), failed to put up a fight. However, Iyer teamed up with Lad and the duo added 114 runs for the fifth wicket. He was dismissed by Yusuf Pathan, the all-rounder finishing with 5/80.
