Members of legendary rock band Pink Floyd have been very much in evidence at Magny-Cours this weekend, as the French go ‘en fete’ in celebrating the centenary of Grand Prix racing.

Friday evening saw a Paddock Club soiree in which Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters gives his guitar to Ferrari’s general director Jean Todt of France and driver Michael Schumacher of Germany for the French institute of Brain and Spinal Cord (Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle Epiniere).

The institute was established by three world-famous professors: Gerard Saillant, Yves Agid and Olivier Lyon-Caen, whose aim is to raise money to create a permanent home for the ICM Institute. Waters’ ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ concert followed. Opened by Tony Joe White and Laurent Voulzy, this open air extravaganza sited at the entry to the circuit proved to be one of the highlights of the weekend for many.
