Seven-goal Stuttgart off the mark; Mainz win again

VfB Stuttgart, helped by a Pavel Pogrebnyak hat-trick, routed Borussia Moenchengladbach 7-0 on Saturday to claim their first Bundesliga points of the season.                                         

Mainz 05 won 2-0 at Werder Bremen to maintain their 100% record.                                           

Former England manager Steve McClaren's VfL Wolfsburg also got off the mark with a 2-0 win over Hanover 96 thanks to second-half goals from Diego and Edin Dzeko. 

Champions Bayern Munich were held to a goalless draw at home for the second league match running, this time by Cologne.

Mainz are the only team with 12 points from their opening four games after Hoffenheim, the other side to have won their opening three matches, drew 2-2 at promoted Kaiserslautern.
