The Indo-Swiss pair defeated the Romanian pair of Irina-Camelia Begu and Monica Niculescu in the summit clash in straight sets with the score reading 6-2 and 6-3.

As expected, Sania dominated the game from the base line, while Hingis with her quick reflexes and volleys made the Romanian pair look helpless. The match lasted for one hour and nine minutes.

It was another great performance by Sania and Hingis, who are collecting honours one after the other. Sania and Hingis, after deciding to form a pair earlier in the year, have won a number of honours, but their biggest achievement so far has been their two back-to-back grand slams, US Open and Wimbledon.
