Satyawart Kadian, on the other hand, is a lesser known wrestler. He is the son of Arjuna Awardee wrestler Satyavan Kadian who also had competed in 1988 Summer Olympics.

Malik had said that their love for the sport is the thing that brought them closer.

"We are from Rohtak. We met and bonded through our common love for wrestling. He's very supportive. It's a great feeling that we both are taking part in several competitions and are receiving accolades for the same, there couldn't be a happier feeling than this. We often give tips to each other to improve our wrestling techniques."

Luminaries like Virender Sehwag, Saina Nehwal, Dipa Karmakar wished prosperity to the newly-weds on social media while many others attended the wedding in Rohtak.
