Switzerland reportedly avoided an embarrassing Davis Cup quarterfinal defeat as tennis ace Roger Federer sealed his country's place in the semi-finals after defeating Kazakhstan's Andrey Golubev.Switzerland was reportedly trailing 2-1 to Kazakhstan after doubles defeat for Federer and teammate Stanislas Wawrinka.However, Swiss ace Federer defeated Golubev 7-6 (7-0) 6-2 6-3 to seal Switzerland's place in the semi-finals after Wawrinka overcame Mikhail Kukushkin, the BBC reported.Switzerland reportedly defeated Kazakhstan 3-2 in the Davis Cup quarterfinals in Kazakhstan to secure their place in the semi finals.Switzerland will face Italy in the last four after the Italians beat Great Britain, the report added.
