It was all Real Madrid on Monday night, as the club and its star forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, won a handful of prizes, which included the 'Best player of the year', 'Best forward of the season', as well as 'Best goal of the year', in a glittering ceremony held in the Spanish capital.

Ronaldo's amazing backheel goal against Valencia was considered as the goal of the season, as it beat off other spectacular efforts from Lionel Messi and Giovanni Dos Santos.

Real also had Keylor Navas, Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric winning awards for best goalkeeper, defender and midfielder respectively, on the night.

Barcelona had the consolation of Andreas Iniesta winning the 'Best attacking midfielder award', whereas defending champions Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone won 'The Best coach of the year' trophy.

Carlos Bacca (Sevilla) was named as 'The Best South American player', whereas Yacine Brahimi won the 'The Best African player' award.

Barcelona's Rafinha collected the 'Young player' trophy, whereas Ivan Rakitic (Barcelona) and Manuel Pablo (Deportivo La Coruna) bagged the 'Fair play award' respectively.
